The FOMC’s interest rate decision is scheduled for Thursday
Next week will bring plenty of economic data, as well as the latest interest rate decision from the Federal Reserve. Earnings season is in full swing, with reports from Boeing (BA), Chevron (CVX), First Solar (FSLR), Marriott (MAR), McDonald’s (MCD), Microsoft (MSFT), ON Semiconductor (ON), Pfizer (PFE), Procter & Gamble (PG), and Starbucks (SBUX), to name just a few.
Below is a list of key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change.
There is no economic data of note on Monday, July 29.
S&P Case-Shiller home price index is due out Tuesday, July 30, along with consumer confidence and job openings data.
Wednesday, July 31 will bring the ADP employment report, the Chicago Business Barometer, the Federal Open Market Committee’s (FOMC) interest rate decision, and comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Regularly scheduled jobless claims data is due out Thursday, August 1, as well as construction spending data, the S&P U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI), and ISM manufacturing index.
The unemployment rate is scheduled for release on Friday, August 2, alongside hourly wages and factory orders.
