June’s consumer price index (CPI) will drop on Thursday
There will be something to unpack every day next week, with plenty of economic data and Fed speeches scheduled. A flood of banks will report earnings, including Bank of America (BAC), Blackrock (BLK), BNY Mellon (BK), Citigroup (C), Citizens Financial Group (CFG), Fifth Third (FITB), Goldman Sachs (GS), JPMorgan Chase (JPM), KeyCorp (KEY), Morgan Stanley (MS), PNC (PNC), U.S. Bancorp (USB), and Wells Fargo (WC). Netflix (NFLX), United Airlines (UAL), and United Health (UNH) are also among the many companies announcing their reports.
Below is a list of key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change.
Monday, July 15 starts the week off with the empire state manufacturing survey and comments from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
Retail sales are due out on Tuesday, July 16, along with business inventories, import price index data, and the home builder confidence index.
Wednesday, July 17 features housing starts, building permits, industrial production data, and the Fed’s beige book report.
Along with regularly scheduled jobless claims, Thursday, July 18 will bring the Philadelphia Fed manufacturing survey and leading economic indicators.
Friday, July 19, New York Fed President Williams and Atlanta Fed President Raphael Bostic will both speak.
