The holiday-shortened week will bring a flood of economic data
Despite the holiday-shortened week, July kicks off with a flood of economic data, particularly on Wednesday. There is also a host of employment data scheduled on Friday. The only real earnings report of note is Constellation Brands (STZ), due out midweek.
Below is a list of key market events scheduled for the upcoming week. All economic dates listed below are tentative and subject to change.
Monday, July 1 starts off the month with the S&P final U.S. manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI), the ISM manufacturing PMI, ISM manufacturing prices, and construction spending data.
Tuesday, July 2 features job openings and comments from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Though the market will close at 1pm E.T. on Wednesday, July 3, the ADP employment report, jobless claims data, the U.S. trade deficit, the S&P final U.S. services PMI, factory orders, ISM services data, and minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee’s (FOMC) June meeting are all scheduled for release.
The market is closed on Thursday, July 4, for the Independence Day holiday.
Average hourly earnings, nonfarm payrolls, and the unemployment rate are due out on Friday, July 5.
